Export from Egypt
Exporting from Egypt, step by step.
Every export from Egypt needs the exporter on the exporters register, a certificate of origin, export clearance at the port or airport, and whatever your buyer's country asks for on arrival. Questions before you export.
Do I need to be on the exporters register?
Yes. A company must be on the exporters register at GOEIC before it can export, under Law 118 of 1975. Registration needs your commercial register extract and tax card, among other papers.
Which certificate of origin do I need?
It depends on the destination. EUR.1 or EUR-MED for the EU and EFTA, EUR-MED for Türkiye and the Agadir countries, the Arab certificate for Arab countries, and the COMESA certificate for COMESA members. Each can lower duty only if your goods meet that agreement's origin rules. Elsewhere, a general certificate of origin.
Does fresh produce need anything extra?
Yes. A phytosanitary certificate from the agricultural quarantine after inspection, and for many products a registered farm and packhouse. It ships in reefer containers, refrigerated trucks or by air.
My freight is booked with someone else. Can you still clear my export?
Yes. Shipping with us, export clearance is part of the same booking. Freight booked elsewhere, we clear it on its own.
